Halloween

The name Halloween derives from All Hallows Even meaning the eve of All Hallows Day. The name in turn derives from the old English “Hallowed” meaning sanctified or holy now generally known as All Saints’ Day in the Christian calendar.specialFX

I’m not sure where the connection this and the festival of spooks, ghouls and the ubiquitous “Trick or Treat” lies but for many people it is an excuse for a party, particularly of the fancy dress kind!

What better way to dress up than to wear contact lenses to give you scary eyes!

But be warned! What could be really scary would be having visual loss or eye disfigurement through wearing non-sterile, ill fitting lenses. I’m not saying don’t wear special effects contact lenses, I’m just saying make sure you get them from a reputable supplier who will give you the right advice on putting them in and out, maximum wearing time and how to look after them, and your eyes.

Have fun, but make sure you don’t end up with the trick, rather than the treat that you may regret for a lifetime.

Happy Halloween!
