Helping alliviate blindness in Africa

Yeovil optometrist and partner Ben Williams recently returned from Kenya’s Akamba region working with the Akamba Aid Fund seeing up to a 100 patients a day. Ben is an old hand having donated his services several times before and so may have some words of wisdom for our Twickenham optometrist Ridhi Notay who leaves for Ethiopia on Friday 18thNovember 2011 for two weeks. “I am going on a training project with vision aid overseas where I will help train students and go on outreach projects with them” says Ridhi. “We will be visiting two areas: Debark and Chilga. This is the first project I am going on…I am bit apprehensive but overall I am very excited!”

We all wish Ridhi good luck.

Without people like Ben and Ridhi giving up their time and spending weeks away from familiy and friends thousand of people on the African continent would be consigned to unnecessary blindness.
