Diabetic Screening

Diabetes is becoming an ever more prevalent disease throughout the UK. A useful source of information on diabetes can be found on the Diabetes Web Site. One of the problems associated with diabetes is Diabetic Retinopathy. This a disease that affect the back surface of the eye (the retina) and we are pleased to be involved in the Dorset Diabetic Screening Programme. We use sophisticated digital screening techniques linked directly to Poole hospital to capture, screen and grade images (see digital retinal imaging).
