Practice partner Kelly Lucas has been with Robert Frith since 1996 and full time at Gillingham since 1998. “ I like to lead by example and enjoy a relaxed informal approach, but never forgetting core professionalism” he says, adding “I also enjoy the challenge of supervising preregistration optometrists through their formative exam year”. Kelly has overseen more than half a dozen students in recent years. He also supervised practice manager Janice Newe during her contact lens training.

As practice manager Janice Newe has striven to “achieve a pleasant, welcoming environment whilst maintaining a high level of service. It’s really great to receive so many compliments from patients in respect of the time we devote, patience and honest advice. We endeavor to treat everyone as we would wish our own family members to be treated”.

Living and working locally gives a great “feel” for the area and population helping us source the best possible choice of spectacles lenses, sun spectacles and contact lenses. We carry a selection of designer products from companies such as Versace, D&G, Oakley, Maui Jim and Oliver Goldsmith (as worn by televisions Kate Silverton on BBC News 24). We also offer a varied range in mid price and budget price areas.

The extensive refit of the practice has allowed an expansion of the stock carried allowing even more choice and a much more spacious and pleasant area in which to browse. We are pleased to advise on any aspect of eye care including sports protection, low visual aids and safety eye wear and look forward to welcoming you to our practice in the future.
