Years pass, trends change, but Ray-Ban remains. The brand’s undeniable presence, from stage to street, was forged by the greatest cultural icons of our time—visionaries who chose original Ray-Ban design and made it their own. For every revolutionary decade in our history, a Ray-Ban icon marks the moment and their story evolves with each new generation of style.
Originally designed for pilots in WW2, the G-15 green coloured lenses would created to cut out glare without obscuring vision. The lenses were made impact resistant in 1928 and the metal frame added the year after to create the Aviator style which has become famous world wide.
The other most recognised design (the wayfarer) was released in the 1950s and was made popular by music and film icons such as Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison and James Dean.
Nowadays, Rayban continues to evolve, celebrating the iconic pieces they are known for whilst embracing new technologies and styles.
