Our Swanage practice is right in the heart of this beautiful coastal town. The practice was formerly known as IJ Brown Partnership and in 2016 saw the Robert Frith group purchase the IJ Brown branches. Friths have retained the distinct identity of each practice continuing the strong independent ethos of both groups by concentrating on the delivery of the best possible eyecare to our patients.

We are dedicated in providing our patients with the very best knowledge in eye care, including the latest advice on lens choice and frames. Our wonderful and very thorough Optometrist Emma, will be on hand to provide the very best examinations, with Andy available to provide expert advice on spectacle choices. Our receptionists, Lynne and Hazel will be ready to welcome you with a smile and help with any queries you may have.
We also offer hearing care services and have teamed up with The Hearing Care Partnership (THCP) as they share our passion for personal service and clinical excellence.

As well as routine eye tests, whether you’re looking to get your Low Vision Assessment, following up with one of our IP qualified optometrists, or thinking of changing from glasses to contact lenses, we aim to provide you with the best experience possible.
Andy has been in optics for over fifteen years when he started as a technician glazing spectacles. He then ventured out of the lab and into the practice itself and has been dispensing for about ten years. He is currently studying for his Dispensing Optician qualification and has been practice manager of the Swanage practice since December 2019.
